Reclaiming Our Light

We all have a deep desire to be understood, to feel seen, to have the frequency of our light be recognized by pure love. In order to be understood, we must first learn to be understanding of ourselves without judgement. To feel seen, we must first see ourselves with full clarity. To be recognized for our light, we must first face our shadow.
We find mosaics of ourselves scattered meticulously throughout this divine dance of life. There are some days where understanding is layered with a desperate seeking, we walk tirelessly through the labyrinth of ignorance that shifts the center of our knowing away from our grasp. Then, there are days where we walk effortlessly on our sacral ropes and with each footsteps we find glowing confidence as we continue to navigate. We achieve understanding as we honor the presence of the divine self.
As we awake, the sunlight fills our being with vitality. The waves of light fill us with the cosmic colors, our spines become strengthened by their power. We bow to red, as it holds our roots with security and strength. We lead with orange emanating from our hips, allowing its wisdom to guide us forward. We glow in yellow, our golden rays illuminating our power in every moment. We embody gratitude with the spirit of green, love and compassion create a divine flow of abundance through our vessels. We speak with our words wrapped in blue ribbons, honoring our inner truth with every word. We perceive every moment with clarity coated in layers of indigo intuition. We connect to divine oneness with violet visions that circle our crowns. We allow ourselves to feel every hue in its entirety. We honor the cosmic light spectrum born from the sun knowing we are the descendants whom blossom at its every rise.
“Understanding the language of color (light) will naturally unfold your innate ability to understand the language of the universe itself. In return, you will have the key to heal your vessel, creating pure space for divine evolution to take place.” ―Lumi
Why Your Light is Important
We are all light, exploring our own corner of this cosmic fabric. We each hold our own perspectives of reality, shining our own lantern as we walk down our path of life. When we are born into our vessel, we become accustomed to our own light. Our eyes adjust to its brightness, to its hue, our environment can only be illuminated to the extent of our willingness to shine our light.
We each have a purpose to live authentically in alignment with our highest self. We can all fall weakly to the tendency of following the crowd, although there are times and places for us to come together in unity, there's an equal importance to holding your own light with poise. The universe will lose the perspective from your lens if your efforts are directed towards trying to reflect another's light rather than holding strength in your own frequency. The more we recognize the importance of our individuality the more spiritual ground we cover in discovering ourselves as we are fractal pieces of the universe experiencing itself infinitely unfolding.
“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.”―Alan Watts
If all of our lights are concentrated on one corner of the universe, we would only know one mountain, one valley, one road, all through the same lens. We are each given an individual light body to explore every corner of the world, to share the story that our hearts desire to tell, and to learn ourselves through present illumination. In the same breath, as we walk in our individual vessels, we remain ever connected to each other through spirit.
The planet of the Sun is our Source as our bodies are each ray that emanate onto the Earth; we are all divinely connected to and guided by the light of the Sun, yet we each come alive from different beams born from it's glory. We must not worry about how brightly the ray next to us shines, as we are all of the same light, our purpose is to recognize and embody that each day of our lives.
Learning to Stand Authentically in Our Light
In order to embody divine authenticity, one must shed the layers of the false self. In order to reach the reservoir of inner gold, one must walk into the fire. Everyday, every moment, every decision, every relationship reflects what is within us, not as a stand of mockery, but as an opportunity to reveal the falsity, fear, and pain we hold. We must face the shadow in order to observe the pure light, we are not meant to eliminate all darkness, but to recognize that it is a direct result and inseparable aspect of the shining light.
The first stages of transmutation requires presence and recognition, if one cannot see this life from a perspective that asks the best of us, then we remain stuck in stagnancy, not from a place of rest but from a place of complacency. Once we shift out of a complacent mindset, we step into a position to face our shadows and transmute our pain into power, to alchemize lead into gold.
The journey for each of us varies based on a variety of factors, including our environment, the nature of our biology and behavior, how we are nurtured throughout our adolescence into adulthood, and how we learn lessons, through varying physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges. (One will undergo various tests of the mind, body, and soul trinity throughout their lifetime that are necessary for growth and evolution; recognizing the concept of pressure making a diamond.)
“In my Human Design*, my authority for decision making is defined by my emotions combined with a defined Sacral Chakra, the Orange Ray, which governs emotions, creativity, sensuality, and pleasure. I've operated from a sacrificial mindset for many years. I was constantly putting others needs over my own, lacking self-worth, and repressing my pain at the cost of "keeping the peace." As I continued to allow external forces penetrate my aura, I began to feel disease in my body. I received a diagnosis of pre-cancerous cells in my cervix (ruled by the Sacral Chakra) a direct correlation between my emotional and physical environment became blatantly obvious.” ―Lumi
Often times we encounter spiritual and emotional challenges, if we continue to repeat patterns that are not reflective of evolving towards our highest self, then it results our bodies becoming the land in which the neglect of transmuting the challenge will manifest into disease.
There are many factors that contribute to disease in the body, but it is vital for us to understand that physical illnesses rarely manifest in isolation of emotional and spiritual contributors.
There are many esoteric writings from Theosophists and Spiritualists alike that speak of the Etheric Body. If we take the time to recognize that our bodies are divinely tied to the health of our spirit and mind, I believe that many of our modern healing modalities including surgeries and medications will be viewed as inherently barbaric. As we lean into truly understanding the relationship of our physical anatomy to our auric anatomy, we will collectively enter into a space of divine holistic healing.
In cases such as cancer, heart issues, and obesity, we can recognize the physical manifestations rather quickly through physical observation by way of scientific tools and testing. In cases pertaining to mental or spiritual distress, there are many more intricacies that intertwine into the emergency at hand.
“I was in the spring semester of college when Covid was announced to the world. I began to spend even more time in isolation, rarely even stepping outside in the nature or making time to be around people. I already spent a lot of time in my own company as an arts major, partially due to the nature of the projects I was invested in, and partially because I rather preferred being alone. The summer was mostly a blur, then the fall of my last year at university was approaching. I had a surgery that required anesthesia, in recovery I began using drugs again to cope with the displacement I felt. I was thrown into psychosis and was admitted to a psychiatric institution as a result. I received a diagnosis of Schizophrenia, one of which I held so tightly on because I felt it validated the stereotype of an artist. But, as I've grown to understand the mind, body, soul connection, I've been able to take that diagnosis and change my perspective. Now, whenever I sense a feeling in my spirit, I honor it. I honor myself by listening to what my soul is asking of me before it has a chance to manifest as illness in my body.” ―Lumi
We often receive messages physically when it's almost too late, we finally listen. There is so much wisdom we all carry if we just take the time and space to honor what it is that our spirit is telling us. The voice in our heads can become paranoid and overcrowded by external forces, we must learn to soothe the voice, to honor it, and allow it to speak with clarity.
“Some days I still battle with the voice. I hear it speak from a place of pain, I hear my paranoia echo louder than my deeper wisdom. But once I return to my body, I reclaim myself, I reclaim my center. I believe I've made it out of the darkness with my light still shining, and I want to help be that light for people who are still on that journey.” ―Lumi
Ways to Optimize Your Light Environment
Returning to the idea that we are light beings, we can conclude that the light environment that we are exposed to will have a direct impact on our health.
After Dr. Alexis Cowan, Molecular Biologist, received her PhD from Princeton she continued to the University of Pennsylvania to complete her postdoctoral research. During her time there she focused on light biology— specifically how red and near-infrared light interact with mitochondrial function, circadian rhythms, and cellular energy systems. This work sits at the direct intersection of photobiomodulation science and the mitochondrial biology she studied at Princeton.
Daily Practices
Morning sunlight exposure + midday exposure, according to skin type + latitude- supports our circadian alignment, mitochondrial health, and natural appetite regulation; use shade as needed instead of sunscreen.
MyCircadian (free app with paid upgrades) recommended by Dr. Alexis Cowan
Minimize evening artificial blue light by using red/incandescent bulbs, candlelight, or dark-orange blue-blocking glasses to protect melatonin and sleep quality.
Prioritize a seasonal, whole-foods diet low in processed seed oils to support skin resilience and reduce burn risk while building tolerance to natural light.
Track vitamin D levels (aim 60-80 ng/mL via sun) as a proxy for adequate UVB exposure rather than relying on supplements alone.
Dr. Alexis Cowan + Nick Jikomes from Light, Hunger & Mitochondria
The light environment you live in can either encourage your health or deplete it. If we optimize our light environments the health of our bodies, our minds, and our spirits will naturally follow. Everything we need in order to heal is accessible through establishing a religious connection to nature. We must be able to discern between the capitalistic agenda that keeps us sick by sacrificing our time, money, and spirits for their financial gain and immoral control. We will heal by learning to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors by placing our faith back into the very nature that keeps our lungs full and our bodies nourished.

WE ARE LIGHT.
WE ARE OF the HUE.
WE ARE HUE-MAN.
WE ARE OF THE SOL [SUN].
WE ARE SOULS.
SUNLIGHT IS OUR MEDICINE.
There is direct and obvious evidence that the Sun is required for life on Earth, sunflowers honor it the way our ancestors used to, plants utilize its power to grow, animals live in harmony with its light. We would rise as it peaked over the mountains and retreat into our dwellings as it would fall behind the horizon, we lived our days under the sun and bowed to the wisdom of the moon as they oscillated their positions in the sky. Today, modern life has shifted our relationship to nature. So many people step outside only to see skyscrapers and flashing billboards tower above them, having forgotten the views of towering mountains and trees that ground us to this Earth. The branches of trees are ever reflected in the anatomy of our lungs, our palms are reminders of the veins from a leaf, our veins are like the rivers that flow over the vast lands, our eyes like cosmic nebulas glowing in space.
We are nature ourselves, if we continue to seek dark rooms glowing with blue-light and modified temperatures, we will continue to spread the disease and disconnection we feel in our bones. We must learn and honor the inseparable connection we have to our Earth.
The Sun grows flowers, strengthens trees, and cycles our water, so, why do we fear it? Why do they tell us that it causes us disease and illness? Because the truth is, is that it heals us, it grows us, it connects us to ourselves. In a society that is capitalistically reliant on the concept that there is money in sickness, there is no money in health, it will try to convince its people that health is expensive and unattainable. It will try to convince us that everything that heals us is evil and destructive, while feeding us chemicals and white lies through medication and psychological manipulation. Let us return to the Earth, let us remember the healing powers of our land.
Good health is our birth right.
Good health is found in nature.
Good health is accessible.
We must see beyond the conditioning and have to courage to undoctrinate ourselves. There are many challenges that act as obstacles for us to take ownership, but it is possible to live in alignment with our higher self. A renewed life requires us to understand the synthesis of the mind, body, soul trinity, and with that newfound knowledge we must take aligned action.
If we continue to operate from a place of fear, of lack, and of disease, we will continue to perpetuate the cycles of pain, of war, and of control over each other. Peace and harmony can only be achieved if there is peace and harmony within its people. In order to heal and evolve, we must be able to understand the larger picture at hand as to why such operations that perpetuate greed, illness, and war stand so strongly. We have to understand that we each as individuals play a part in this, and from that recognition, we need to cultivate the courage in order to change.
“Can’t change the world unless we change ourselves.” ―Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott a.k.a. Joey Bada$$

To Play
Alan Watts says, "Here’s this Hindu word—crucial—the world is called māyā. This word, māyā—yes, it means ‘illusion,’ it means ‘magic,’ it means ‘art,’ it means ‘delineation,’ or ‘measurement’—and so from matter we get ‘meter,’ and we also get ‘matter,’ ‘material.’ Isn’t it funny that the way we say ‘material’—today, we mean something very real, but the root of the word is ‘illusion.’ So, you see—I mean, measurement is kind of an illusion. You don’t find inches lying around; you can’t pick up an inch. So, in the same way that hours and inches and pounds and dollars and so on are actually imaginary—they’re elaborate systems of cosmic bookkeeping with their little scratches on paper, little hairlines on dials—so in exactly that way the distinction between things is māyā, is imaginary. But what an imagination! In a way, to say that the world is māyā is at the same time to say that what lies behind māyā is immaterial. Look at the reversal of the word. Oh, it’s immaterial, it doesn’t matter. What matters is all this......the Self—the Ātman, the Brahman—exists for fun. See, there is no reason to exist; it’s completely useless. And it is—therefore, māyā is linked with the word līlā, and that means ‘play.’ Also, of course, the word ‘illusion,’ in English, is derived from the Latin ludere, ‘to play.’ So the nature, you might say, of the Self is that it does no work, it only plays."
It is vital to the temperament of our spirit to understand the illusive nature of reality. If we sit in a serious state, the material world appears to manifest our internal worries and struggles right before our eyes. The turmoil that we reap in our minds becomes the bitter fruits that we sew. In opposition, if we recognize the apparent solidity of matter is merely an illusion, we can become the magician that bends and folds reality with the mere power of a playful mind.

We are light beings existing in a world of light; our internal flame dances in the veins of our spirit.
If one is sick in the soul, one is sick in the mind, then the body becomes sick by association if one doesn’t properly address the issue at its root. If sickness fills us, there is no desire to explore the world with a youthful curiosity. We become bitter, self-centered, and blocked. We struggle to treat each other with kindness because our souls lacks the ability to feel it when it is filled with illness. The more we learn to honor the mind, body, soul connection, and become the healers of our own pains, the more natural it becomes for us to play.
